Chicago's nerve, her forcefulness and might,
Her high ambition and her queenly grace, Were elements that guided all; and thus
She won clear title to the stately place That trial, triumph, weal and woe have wrought
To test her worthiness. So she will stand, Through ages, strong and brave, true to the right,
Hopeful and free, magnificent and grand.
Oh! Great Jehovah! Guide her steps aright, And bless her way with wisdom's truest light. |
